You'll find topics and articles that will help improve your overall health and sense of well-being related to weight loss, relationships, diet, exercises, fitness, nutrition, vitamins, prevention, and many more.
The first goal of dieting is to stop further weight gain. The next goal is to establish realistic weight loss goals. While the ideal weight is a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 20-25, this is difficult to achieve for many people. Thus success is higher when a goal is set to lose 10% to 15% of baseline weight as opposed to 20% to 30% or higher. It is also important to remember that any weight reduction in an obese person would result in health benefits for himself.

BMI
BMI or Body Mass Index is one of the indicators of a person's overall health condition. The BMI index must not be viewed in isolation but along with the person's age, lifestyle and other related issues. A BMI calculator helps you check if your weight falls within acceptable limits for your height. Extra weight is a precursor to increased cholesterol levels, diabetes, osteoarthritis and coronary disease. Therefore it is important to calculate your BMI as its gives you a fair idea whether you are underweight, overweight, normal or obese.
However it cannot indicate the presence of any disease. Use our free BMI calculator to look up your BMI score.
